Board of Directors

Board President: Jeffrey Yandle

Jeff joined the Board in 2007 and currently serves as Board President and Chair of the Executive Committee. Jeff’s background includes over 27 years of experience in the investment business and active participation in the Portland civic community. Jeff is a Managing Director with First Republic Investment Management, where he manages investment portfolios for high-net worth families and individuals, serves as a research analyst for the firm’s equity holdings, and coordinates management for the firm’s All-Cap equity process. Previously, Jeff served as Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at US Trust Company and was a Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for First Interstate Bank, then Wells Fargo. In addition to the Macdonald Center, Jeff is also on the board and executive committee of the Mt. Angel Abbey Foundation of Oregon and the Investment Committees for the Archdiocese of Portland and the LaSalle High School Foundation in Milwaukie, Oregon. Jeff received a B.A. from the University of Portland and completed graduate studies at the University of Notre Dame.

Vice President: Dr. Susan Randles Moscato

Susan joined the Board in 2006, is the Board Vice President, Chair of the Fund Development Committee and Co-Chair of the ad hoc Capital Campaign Committee. Susan is an active researcher, consultant, and community volunteer. She retired in June 2011 as Professor and Associate Dean of the Graduate Program at the University of Portland, School of Nursing. She retains a close association with the University and is the Tyson Distinguished Professor in Nursing, Emeritus. Susan is a graduate of the University of Portland and began her career as a Navy Nurse at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital during the Vietnam conflict. Susan also has a Master’s Degree from the University of California Los Angeles, with a clinical specialty in rehabilitation, and an EdD in Education Administration from Portland State University.

Secretary: Peter Burger

Peter joined the board in 2009, is the Board Secretary, and is on the Board Executive Committee and Fund Development Committee. Peter is an attorney with the Bonneville Power Administration. His practice at Bonneville focuses on regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and in administrative rate setting hearings. Prior to joining Bonneville, Peter worked for the United States Department of Justice where he represented Bonneville in several Federal court proceedings. He received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and J.D. from Willamette University.

Treasurer: David Hooff

David joined the Board in 2010 and currently serves as Board Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee. David is a CPA with over 30 years of financial management experience in employee benefits insurance, investment real estate and philanthropy. David is currently Vice-President, Finance for the Northwest Health Foundation. David has also been a volunteer in several non-profit organizations over the years, most recently as Board Treasurer for Clackamas Women’s Services and President of the Forest Heights Homeowners Association. David graduated from the University of Oregon.

: Dr. Carol Craig

Carol joined the Board in 2010 and is on the Fund Development Committee. Carol is the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the University of Portland’s School of Nursing. Her passion for nursing encompasses many areas: community health, chronic illness, rural health, spirituality, and a love of teaching. Her current research is focused on how families manage end of life care in rural areas. Carol is also a family nurse practitioner, and in that capacity started a Free Clinic in Arizona to serve those who had no options for care. Carol received a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, a B.S. and M.S. in Nursing from the University of Alaska, and Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Colorado. Carol has also received Executive Management Training at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.

: Steve Glenn

Steve joined the Board in 2011 and is on the Board Development Committee. Steve’s background includes a mix of strategy development, executive management, and project leadership. He is currently Director for the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) for Regence, a not-for-profit health and life insurance company based in Portland, Oregon that serves approximately 3 million members. Prior to joining Regence, Steve was Vice President for a large national retailer and was responsible for the Retail Training and Education Division. Steve is very involved in his community and is currently the President of the St. Ignatius School Foundation Board, managing a multi-million dollar endowment supporting the work of St. Ignatius School, is a member of the board of Oregon Partnership (to end substance abuse and suicide), and also volunteers to support the work of the Candlelighters organization. Steve received his B.S. in Chemistry from Portland State University.

: Jon Hofmeister

Jon joined the Board in 2011, is the Chair of the Board Development Committee, and is on the Fund Development Committee. Jon’s background is a balance of business, science, and engineering. He is currently President and Director at Perpetua Power Source Technologies, Inc. – a renewable energy company he founded in 2005. Previously, Jon was a key contributor at K2 Technologies, Inc., a Stanford University spinout that grew from a 5 person firm to a 45 person profitable company before being acquired less than 2 years from founding. Jon also worked as a civil engineer at URS Corporation and the Oregon Dept. of Geology & Mineral Industries, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in California and Oregon. He received his B.S. from Stanford University in civil engineering & engineering geology (dual degree), M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Washington, and MBA from the University of Oregon, Reims School of Management (in France), and London Business School.

: Debbie Lamberger

Debbie joined the Board in 2011, is on the Board Development Committee, and is on the Fund Development Committee. Debbie’s background includes a mix of healthcare management and direct social service. She is currently the Ambulatory Care Manager at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and helps to oversee outpatient clinical operations. Previously, Debbie worked at OHSU as the Catastrophic Financial Case Manager where she assisted families facing life changing medical crises and for the State advocating for low income disabled adults. She has also worked as a volunteer with homeless youth and hospice. Debbie received her B.S. in Sociology from Portland State University and her Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Portland State University, Mark O. Hatfield School of Government.

: Peter Lee

Pete joined the board in 2009 and is on the Fund Development Committee. Pete’s background includes a mix of business information systems and electrical transmission market systems analysis. He is currently a Senior Business Analyst for Bonneville Power Administration. Previously, Pete was a consultant to Providence Health System, The Regence Group, and Standard Insurance. A Portland native, he endeavors to give back to a community that welcomed his immigrant parents with open arms. His volunteer work has included support for organizations such as the American Red Cross, Pacific NW Search & Rescue, Civil Air Patrol, and SCORE. As an Emergency Medical Technician, Pete is also a volunteer with the Multnomah County Medical Reserve Corps. Pete graduated from Jesuit High School (Oregon) and pursued a multidisciplinary college experience, including Thomas Aquinas College (California) and the University of Portland.

: Robert Lowry

Robert joined the Board in 2010 and is on the Fund Development Committee. Bob’s background includes over 25 years of legal practice, as well as community leadership. Currently, Bob is counsel to the Kell, Alterman & Runstein law firm. Previously, Bob was an Attorney with Bullivant Houser Bailey, P.C. Throughout his legal practice, Bob has prosecuted and defended a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters in various state and federal courts involving diverse transactional, commercial lending, securities, pharmaceutical and business tort issues. Bob received his B.A. from the University of Portland, J.D. from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College, and also received a B.A. and S.T.B from Dominican University College (Ottawa).
